“Goodie”- Outlining An Invisible Man
A motion picture by TJ Walkup

In this documentary you will meet a talented African American Artist who is being rediscovered in our culture through his second rise to greatness. You may have not heard of him the first time. A cartoon humorist since 1951, this man is also credited with being an innovator in the greeting card industry with his “Goodie Cards”. He is the first national publisher and designer of contemporary black greeting cards in the U.S. This documentary is both provocative and insightful, it serves as a history lesson on “Positive Black Images” and a vehicle for discourse on the awakening of black consciousness in America. Be ready to be inspired!

NO LNG!
This commercial aired in the bay area and helped to beat giants Bechtel and Shell. Created on a shoestring budget of $2,500.00 it became a topic for discussion as an example of what finely tuned stylizing can do against a big budget. Bechtel and Shell spent a few hundred thousand on their air campaign.
“The first time one of the executives at Shell saw the NO LNG spot they called a meeting together and pulled out of the Mare Island deal, saying “We don’t need anymore bad press”. – Anonymous source

21st Century Toys at Universal Studios WWII Battle
Work commissioned by Mcsween Media.
This was an incredible gig! I got my legs as a Director as well as shot my first reenactment and became a “War Photog”. The full length video was given as a gift from 21st Century Toys to patrons at their annual convention. We shot on a set at Universal Studios and the tanks and guns etc. were all real, down to the smallest details. Everything was actually used by U.S. Military and the Nazis in battle.
